God’s perfect love logically requires the Trinity.
Love requires relationship.
Real love is not self focused, rather it’s shared between persons, i.e., the lover, the beloved, and the love exchanged.
John 15:13 shows that the highest love is selfless—it involves giving oneself for another.
Love is inherently relational and cannot exist in isolation.
If God is perfect love, He must have the capacity to love eternally, not just after creating others.
Eternal love cannot depend on creation
God is perfectly sovereign. He is fully self-sufficient, independent, and the source of all that exists.
If God need a creation to express love, then his love would depend on something outside himself, limiting his sovereignty.
True eternal love must flow from God’s own being and not be contingent on anything else. Therefore, within God’s own being there must already exist relational love between Father, Son and Holy Spirit before creation , so that His love is both perfect and sovereign.
Only the Trinity solves the problem of eternal love
Only a triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, can eternally give and receive love within itself. The relational dynamic between the three persons models perfect selfless love.
God is love because God is trinity.
